Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis (BGCSTL) proudly welcomes back retired BGCSTL President/CEO Dr. Flint Fowler as the Chair of the Annual Jim Butler Memorial Golf Classic on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Norwood Hills Country Club.

The Jim Butler Memorial Golf Classic is a 4-person scramble charity golf tournament that supports the mission of BGCSTL, which is to enable and inspire all youth to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. The tournament includes 18 holes of golf, pre-round lunch, on-course refreshments, food, games, contests, and post-round activities, including dinner and awards.

Two BGCSTL members are recognized for their sportsmanship and awarded $500 at the tournament.

BGCSTL President/CEO Brandon Williams says, “I am excited about the golf tournament.  This is my first year and I am aware of the impact funds raised at this event have made for the Club.  We want to continue the legacy by making the event bigger and better every year.”

Retired BGCSTL President Flint Fowler emphasizes, “The Jim Butler Memorial Golf Classic, a testament to their commitment to youth development, has raised over five million dollars for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis since its inception. This significant contribution has been instrumental in our ongoing efforts to support youth development. Jim Butler was a former board member and lifelong supporter.”

The Club member’s awardees are Alana S. from Hazelwood Elementary @ Larimore School Club and Mikah W. BGC Bethalto Club.  Both Club members will receive $500.  The two outstanding individuals embody the spirit of sportsmanship in the 2025 Jim Butler Sportsmanship Award.  Their achievements serve as a beacon of inspiration for all our young members.

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis (BGCSTL) is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. BGCSTL provides after-school, teen, sports and summer programs to youth across the Bi-State Region while also providing a safe place for them to learn and grow. The Clubs serve youth across the region at twelve locations, including (Adams Park Club, Bethalto Club, Hazelwood Elementary School Club, Herbert Hoover Club, Mathews-Dickey Club, and the Teen Center of Excellence).
