The second annual Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis (BGCSTL) Mathews-Dickey Club High School Hoops Showcase brought together some of the top names in area basketball for an unforgettable day of competition at Viking Hall on the campus of Normandy High School.

Before a packed and energetic crowd, standout players were recognized after each matchup with a Most Outstanding Player award from the winning team.  Thanks to Raising Cane’s for supporting the players with combo cards and swag.

Showcase Lineup & MVPs:

  • 2:30 p.m. – Lutheran North vs. Hazelwood Central (Girls)
    Hazelwood Central MVP: Camirah Foster
  • 4:00 p.m. – Lutheran North vs. Normandy (Boys)
    Lutheran North MVP: Cayden Bledsoe
  • 6:00 p.m. – University City vs. Lift For Life (Boys)
    Lift For Life MVP: Keon Griffin
  • 7:30 p.m. – Vashon vs. Webster Groves (Boys)
    Vashon MVP: Dehrio McCaskill

Despite rainy weather and Valentine’s Day festivities, the community showed up in full force, filling Viking Hall and cheering passionately for their teams. The event revived the spirit and nostalgia of the classic holiday basketball tournaments long held at Normandy High School.

The High School Hoops Showcase continues to highlight youth talent while strengthening community pride through sports and partnership.

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis (BGCSTL) is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. BGCSTL provides after-school, teen, sports, and summer programs to youth across the Bi-State Region while also providing a safe place for them to learn and grow. The Clubs serve youth across the region at six locations, including (Adams Park Club, Bethalto Club, Hazelwood Elementary School Club, Herbert Hoover Club, Mathews-Dickey Club, and the Teen Center of Excellence).
