Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis is taking its mission to the microphone today with the launch of “Success SZN,” a new podcast featuring candid conversations about success, sacrifice and the experiences that shape great futures.
Hosted by BGCSTL President and CEO Brandon Williams and Vice President of Marketing and Communications Deneen Busby, “Success SZN” goes beyond the highlight reel to explore the journeys behind success. Guests share personal stories about finding their voice, pursuing their passions, overcoming challenges and defining success on their own terms.
The first three episodes are available today, featuring Williams and Busby discussing the Club experience and the ups and downs of their careers; former Club member and radio and television personality Shorty da Prince, now known as Reggie’s Son; and DeMaurice Smith, former executive director of the NFL Players Association.
“For many young people, the Club is where they begin to see a bigger future for themselves,” Williams said. “It gives them a place to find their voice, discover their passion and realize what they are capable of achieving. Success SZN gives us an opportunity to share those stories while inspiring the next generation to believe in their own possibilities.”
The podcast is especially meaningful for Williams, a former Club kid who went on to play in the NFL and now leads the organization that helped shape his future.
“Leading the organization that helped me become who I am today is a full-circle experience,” Williams said. “I want young people to see and hear from people who once sat where they sit and understand that their dreams are possible, too.”
Current Club members will also have a voice on “Success SZN,” participating in interviews and conversations alongside the hosts and guests.
Through the podcast, BGCSTL aims to introduce more families and community members to the opportunities available through its Clubs and inspire listeners to take action — whether by enrolling a young person, volunteering, mentoring or investing in the organization’s mission.
The success stories don’t stop here. New episodes of “Success SZN” will be released weekly. Subscribe on YouTube and follow along for upcoming conversations with Club alumni, community leaders and other notable guests.
